I know I'm behind on updating my blog, but we had a lot to do to prepare for our China trip. We went for 3 weeks so that everyone could meet Tyler for the first time. In general the trip went well, Tyler did great on the plane trips, and he didn't have too much problem with adjusting his sleep schedule. The only small issue really was all the unwanted attention he received. Being blonde in my husband hometown is quite the rare thing, so like last time I visited I got quite a bit of attention, but now with Tyler around, he got even more attention! I like the attention personally, makes me feel like I'm a princess or something -lol- but Ty didn't like all the attention so much, so he ended up having a few tantrums about it. -Poor little guy!- He warmed up to most of my husbands family after a while though, so that was good, he would only really fuss a bit when they would just pick him up after he got used to them a bit he did fine. I also bought him some cute clothes while I was there, in China they actually have cute clothes for their boys too, not just their girls - which I LOVE!
The biggest issue we are having now that we are back is that since we came back is that Ty won't sleep alone in his crib anymore -UGH!- When we were in China Tyler slept with us, so now he insists on someone being around for him to fall asleep or he just screams. It's not too bad when we first put him down, we just wait until he falls asleep then sneak out of his room, but after he wakes up it's taking him a long time to get back to sleep, so most of the time he ends up sleeping with us now. Well, hopefully we can work something out about this soon because we are all tired as a result of our sleep schedules being all messed up right now.
Also as far as development goes, Tyler is 20 months old and has been starting to say quite a few words now, most of which only his parents would understand, but hey that's how we start, right? He has recently said "hello, you, me, no, yeah, window, eye, nose, mouth, hand, car, truck, bus, help, balloon, banana, tomato, potato, light, and baby - and those are just what I can think of off the top of my head :) He now also knows his entire alphabet, although he does have a hard time saying certain letters, but if you are listening for it you can catch it.
Here are some pictures of Tyler wearing some of his cute new Chinese clothes on our trip:
