We recently decided to add book reading to his bedtime routine, and he loves it! We couldn't do it before because he wouldn't sit through a story, he always just wanted to turn the pages, but he will actually sit through the stories now so we decided to make it part of our routine. The first part of our bedtime routine is to put on a Baby Einstein video, and as soon as the video starts, we clean up the room together, he's so good about it too, he will pick things up and hand them to me to put away - what a good boy! After his Baby Einstein video we will go to his room and he will sit on my lap in the rocking chair while we read a story. After the story it's bedtime. I give him his binky and then we snuggle for about a minute while I'm standing in front of his crib before I actually put him down. Once I put him down , I do still have to stay in the room with him until he falls asleep (ever since China), but now once he's asleep he has been doing pretty good now about sleeping in his crib until morning.
Tyler loves letter and numbers, he will point to them and say them wherever we go. He also loves the iPad and Kindle, anything electronic really, he uses them really well too, he can turn them on and off, find all his games or play videos. He enjoys watching Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and Word World. He loves to eat mostly pasta. He loves to dance, he will dance to just about any music he hears. He loves being outside and recently always wants to go on bike rides, we have a kid trailer that hooks up to the bike so we can take him on rides around the neighborhood, we usually go to the park nearby and play on the swings. He is starting to shy away from the kids we meet now though, so I think I need to get him around more kids. He's so funny when we go grocery shopping though, he will point out the items he recognizes then when we pass it he will wave and say "bye" -lol, it's very cute!
In other news I was recently diagnosed with Hoshimoto's Disease. It's another autoimmune disease where my immune system is eating away at my thyroid. It can cause body pain, severe fatigue and trouble swallowing. The Dr. told me with my numbers he would usually recommend having my thyroid removed, but in the end it's up to me and how I feel. He recommends that we first get my thyroid back to a normal levels then see how I'm feeling after that. Fortunately I don't have any pain or trouble swallowing, but I do have an issue with fatigue, but hopefully after increasing my thyroid medicine the fatigue will become better too - I don't want to remove my thyroid :(
