17 Months Old

Wow! Time is sure flying! My boy is 17 months old today, but still cute as ever! -:) I discovered this month that he knows a third of his alphabet already! I was holding up foam letters and asking him "what's this?"- I wasn't really expecting him to answer, but to my surprise, he answered! I even re-asked him the ones he got right a few times just to make sure it wasn't a coincidence. Sure enough he got them right again, and again. Some letters he calls by name while others he can just say the sound it makes, but I was impressed! :) So far he knows G, D, Y, T, B, H, P, F and V! He also knows some of his animals now, although he doesn't call any of them by name, but by their sound. Like he says "ruff" for dog, "meow" for cat, "moo" for cow, "roar" for lion and "baa" for sheep. He also knows the sign for please now too, probably the worst thing we could have taught him because now whenever he wants anything he is constantly "saying" Please - Please - Please - all day long! He can't actually say please yet though, he just signs it and makes a sound something like a "b" or "p", but we get the point. He also likes to dance to music now. -Way cute! And he sometimes points to himself when I say his name or when I sing "You are my Sunshine" to him, the part: "You'll never know dear how much I love YOU" he points to himself when I say "you" on that part of the song. - It's super cute!!!
